BYT JAG VARJE DAG

är en performanceserie som sträcker sig över sju dagar visad ursprungligen under en vecka på Malmö-festivalen1996. Med utgångspunkt i en reklam för hårspray från sextiotalet, byter konstnären utseende och stil i en tidsresa genom kvinnliga schabloner på modets och ungdomskulturens område från 1949 till 1977.

Konstnären friserades varje dag på en av Malmös äldsta hårsalonger för att sedan bege sig ut bland festivalbesökarna och interagera med poser och kroppsspråk som ofta skar av starkt från den gängse på Malmös gator.

Verket har visats offentligt bland annat på Odense International Performance Festival 1997, på invigningen av Klubb Plysch i Malmö 1997, på Landskrona Museum 1997 samt som sagt på Malmöfestivalen 1996 i projektet Hårsalongen. Se filmen under VIDEO i listen högst upp.

BE A NEW YOU TOMORROW TOO

is a performance series going on for seven days, shown originally at the Malmö Festival of 1996. Inspired by an advertisment for hair spray from the sixties, the artist changes appearance and style in a journey through female stereotypes of fashion and youth culture from 1949 to 1977.

The artist had her hair or wig done every day by one of the oldest hairdressers of Malmö. She continued out among the festival visitors to strike frozen poses and interact in body language and styles of fashion that sharply contrasted to the contemporary ones of Malmö.

The work has been shown at Landskrona Museum 1997, at Odense International Performance Festival 1997, at the opening of Club Plysch in Malmö 1997, and at Malmö Festival 1996 as part of a Nordic Art Project called The Hairdresser's. To see the film, check under VIDEO.
