ANAEMIC ART?

Med undertiteln Sätt din prägel på konsthistorien – sätt din prägel på en kärlekshistoria, inbjöds besökarna att bli delaktiga i denna performance och installation på Galerie Leger i Malmö -96.

I syster Annas mottagning kunde betraktaren ingjuta nytt blod i den anemiska konsten (eller patienten) genom att sätta sina röda fingeravtryck på en framväxande bild. Syster Anna förde kontinuerlig patientjournal som fanns att läsa på väggen. Mottagningens inre rum fungerade lite som väntrum vid köbildning. Besökaren tog sin nummerlapp och kunde där inne ta del av en videoinstallation som behandlade kopplingar mellan konsten och kärleken. Initiationsrit, lust och skräck inför beröring, samt konstverkets beroende av betraktarens tolkning, var teman som konstnären önskade undersöka med verket.

ANAEMIC ART?

With the subtitle Make your imprint on the history of art – make your imprint on a love story, viewers were invited to interact in this live performance and installation at Galerie Leger in Malmö 1996.

In nurse Anna’s consulting-room the viewer could infuse new life into the anaemic arena of art by adding red-stained fingerprints to an emerging wall painting. Nurse Anna kept her Patient’s Journal up to date on the wall for everyone to read. In the inner room of the exhibition you could wait in line with your queue ticket and watch an ongoing video installation dealing with cross references between love and art. Rite of passage, desire and fear of intimacy, the art work’s dependence on the interpretation by the viewer, were themes that the artist hoped to investigate in this exhibition.
